This past Saturday afternoon, Reichen and Bard hosted a special experience for three young mothers from Cully—a weaving workshop with Miyuki beads. The intimate gathering was filled with warmth, laughter, and creativity. It was more than a workshop; it was a moment to share, connect, and create.
The afternoon began with everyone finding a comfortable spot around the table, surrounded by a rainbow of Miyuki beads, weaving tools, and a delightful spread of coffee, luxurious pastries brought by the guests, and homemade banana cake also brought by them. The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the room, creating the perfect cozy atmosphere for this
intimate gathering.
The weaving itself was a joyful challenge. For many, it was their first time working with the intricate, delicate Miyuki beads. Fingers moved carefully, weaving patterns that began to take shape, each as unique as the hands that created them. There were shared smiles over small successes, encouragement during moments of frustration, and plenty of "aha!" moments when everything just clicked.
Between delicate strings and vibrant beads, conversations flowed—stories of everyday life, tips on balancing work and family, and even a few laughs about the ups and downs of motherhood. It was a moment of connection, of finding solidarity in the shared experiences of raising children while making time for creativity and self-expression.
As the afternoon wound down, there was a sense of accomplishment in the air—beautiful, handcrafted pieces lay on the table, each one telling a story of an afternoon well spent. The three mothers left not only with the beginnings of their woven Miyuki creations but also with new connections, inspiration, and perhaps even a plan to meet again soon.
These small gatherings at ReichenBard remind us that creativity is best enjoyed together. The magic of making something by hand becomes even more meaningful when shared in good company.
We can't wait for the next one. Until then, may we continue to find joy in the simple pleasures of creating, connecting, and savoring life's sweet moments. Check the photos in our gallery and the latest creations on instagram!
